Osterhaus (HUGO A rear-admiral)

HUGO. A rear-admiral in the United States Navy. He was born in Belleville, Ill., in 1851 and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1870. He commanded the battleship "Connecticut" in the voyage of the American Fleet around the world in 1907. A rear-admiral's commission was given him in 1909. In 1911 he was commander-in-chief of the Atlantic Fleet, He retired at the age limit in 1913.
