Papa
a town of Hungary_in the county of Vesprèm, on the Tapolcza river. It is about 60 miles S. E. of Presburg. It has several extensive palaces and a Protestant gymnasium. Before the World War the town was of considerable importance as a manufacturing center, its chief industry being the manufacture of pottery, tobacco and textiles. Pop. about 22,000. PAPAL STATES.
