Potter (HENRY CODMAN an American)

HENRY CODMAN, an American clergyman; born in Schenectady, N. Y., May 25, 1835. Educated in theology in Virginia, he became rector of Grace Church, New York City, in 1868; and was consecrated Protestant Episcopal bishop of New York in 1887. His Winter in Egypt and Syria" (1876); "Sermons of the City" (1881); etc. He works include: "Gates of the East: A died July 21, 1908.
