Putnam (City of Connecticut one)

a city of Connecticut, one of the county-seats of Windham co. It is on the Quinebaug river, and on the New York, New Haven, and Hartford railroad. It is the center of an important agricultural region and its industries include iron works and the manufacture of cotton and woolen goods, silks, trunks, boots and shoes, etc. The city contains a public library and a hospital.
