Sienkiewicz
HENRYK, a Polish author; born in Lithuania in 1845. He was the author of the historical novels "Quo Vadis," "The Deluge," and "With Fire and Sword." The next books were "Pan Michael" and "Ian Wolovyjswki."
Later works were: "Children of the Soil," "Knights of the Cross," "Let Us Follow Him," etc. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1905. At the outbreak of the World War he removed to Switzerland. He was active in behalf of the sufferers from the war in Poland, and
