Smith (GEORGE OTIS an American Land)

GEORGE OTIS, an American Land." don, Me., in 1871. He graduated from Colby College ge in 1893, and took post-graduate studies at Johns Hopkins University. For many years he was engaged in geological work in various States of the Union, and from 1896 to 1907 was assistant geologist and geologist of the United States Geological Survey. He was director of the Survey from 1907. He was a member of many scientific societies and was the author of many papers on the economics of minerals and power resources.
