Stanza
a number of lines or verses regularly adjusted to each other, and properly ending in a full point or pause; a part of a poem ordinarily containing every variety of measure in that poem; a combination or arrangement of lines usually recurring, whether like or unlike in measure. A stanza is variously termed terzina, quartetto, sestina, ottava, etc., according as it consists of three, four, six, eight, etc., lines.
