Stevens (JOHN CALVIN an American)

JOHN CALVIN, an American architect, born at Boston, Mass., in 1855. After graduating from the Portland High School in 1873, he entered an architectural office, later becoming successively a member of various firms. He was a member of many philanthropic and art societies and designed many public buildings and private residences in Maine and in other parts of the United States. He wrote, together with A. W. Cobb, "Examples of Domestic Architecture" (1891).
