Stowe (CHARLES EDWARD an American)

CHARLES EDWARD, an American lecturer and writer, born at Brunswick, Maine, in 1850. He was a son of Harriet Beecher Stowe (q. v.) and was educated at Harvard and the Universities of Bonn, Berlin, and Heidelberg. After following the sea for four years, he studied abroad and upon his return was ordained a Congregational minister. He devoted his time to lecturing and wrote "Life of Harriet Beecher Stowe" (1889); "Lives of Distinguished Americans" (1889); "Harriet Beecher Stowe The Story of Her Life" (with L. B. Stowe, 1912).
