Thayer (EMMA HOMAN an American author)

EMMA HOMAN, an American author; born in New York city, Feb. 13, 1842; was educated at Rutgers College and took a course in art at the National Academy of Design, New York city, where she exhibited numerous figure paintings; settled in Colorado in 1882, and made sketches of the flora of that vicinity. Her publications include: "Wild Flowers of Colorado" (1885); "Wild Flowers of the Pacific Coast" (1887); "The English Am American" (1889); "Petronilla, the Sister" (1898); "A Legend of Glenwood Springs" (1900); and "Dorothy Scudder's Science" (1901). She died in 1908.
