Thigh Bone

the femur, the largest bone in the skeleton, situated between the os innominatum and the tibia. In the erect position of the body it inclines inward, and slightly backward as it descends. At its superior extremity is its neck; its shaft terminates beneath in two condyles, united anteriorly, but separated posteriorly by a deep intercondylar fossa or notch.
