MARY (BLACHFORD), an Irish poet; born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1772; 1772; married her cousin, Henry Tighe, in 1793. Though her poem "Psyche, or the Legend of Love," was privately printed (1805), it was only after her death , March 24, 1810, that her writings were given to the world.
