Tuticorin
a town in Madras, British India; near the S. extremity of the peninsula; 70 miles N. E. of Cape Copeninsula; 70 miles N. E. of Cape Co- morin, and 513 S. W. of Madras. In the roadstead here, where ships ride safely 2½ miles from the shore, is conducted all the sea-borne trade of the district.
