Tyler (MOSES COIT an American)

MOSES COIT, an American historian; born in Griswold, Conn., Aug. hist nal Church in 2, 1835; was graduated at Yale Univerdained in the Congregational sity in 1857; later studied theology; or- 1859; pastor of the First Congregational 1862; Professor of English Literature in Michigan University in 1867-1872 and in 1874-1881; literary editor of the "Christian Union" in 1872-1874. He became Professor of American History in Cor- Professor of American History in Cordeacon in the Protestant Episcopal Church in 1881, and priest two years later.
