Walker (FREDERICK an English painter)
FREDERICK, an English painter; born in London, May 24, 1840; studied at the Royal Academy (1858), and designed for illustrations for the "Cornhill Magazine" and "Once a Week" (1860-1864). Some of these drawings he reproduced in water-color, in which medium he produced a number of exquisite pictures. In 1863 he exhibited his first oil painting, "The Lost Path," at the Royal Academy, and was made an associate R. A. in 1871. His best works in oil are "The Bathers," and "By the Plough." He died in St. Fillans, Scotland, June 4, 1875. ary-
