Warfield (DAVID an American actor born)

DAVID, an American actor, born at San Francisco, Cal., in 1866. He was educated in the public schools of his native town and made his first appearance on the stage at the Wigwam Theater, San Francisco, Cal., in 1889. In 1890 he came to New York, and from 1898 to 1900 he played there in the Casino Theater and in Weber and Field's Music Hall. In 1900 he came under the management of David Belasco and after that appeared with great success throughout the country in "The Auctioneer," "The Music Master," "A Grand Army Man," and "The Return of Peter Grimm."
