Watts (HENRY an English writer Jan)

HENRY, an English writer Jan. 20, 1815; in 1837 became demonstraon chemistry; born in London, England , tor of Chemistry at University College; librarian to the Chemical Society in 1850; and editor of its "Journal" in of Chemistry" (18 vols.) and other chem- 1861. He translated Gmelin's "Manual ical works, but is best known by his "Dicof Chemistry" (18 vols.) and other chemtionary of Chemistry ," based on that of vised ed. by Morley and Muir, 4 vols.

Dr. Ure (5 vols. 1863-1868 ; new and re- 1889 et seq.). He died June 30, 1884.
