CHARLES NORRIS, a British journalist and author, born in Exeter, England, in 1859. He was educated at the University College, London, and, after studying science and engineering for some years, he joined the staff of the "Examiner," in 1881. Later he was a member of the editorial staff Thomas Carlyle" (2 vols., 1881), and "Black and White." He wrote "Life of many articles on travel, automobiling, and other topics.
