Wood (SIR EVELYN a British)

SIR EVELYN, a British Field-Marshal, born at Braintree, Essex, in 1838. He was educated at Marlborough College, later passed the Staff College, and became a barrister of Middle Temple in 1874. He entered the Zulu and Transvaal wars. He commanded the expedition to Egypt in 1882, declared in its articles of incorporation navy in 1852, served in the Crimea. Meetings of the federation are held biennially. There are State federations auxiliary to the General Federation in all the States.
