Foreign 2889. Champagnat's India-Rubber asphaltum, 45 pounds; drying oil, 6 gallons; Varnish. In a wide-mouthed glass bottle, and litharge, 6 pounds. Boil for 2 hours, then digest 2 ounces India-rubber in fine shavings, add dark gum-amber (fused), 8 pounds; hot with 1 pound oil of turpentine, during 2 days, linseed oil, 2 gallons. Boil for 2 hours longer, without shaking, then stir up with a wooden or until a little of the mass, when cooled, spatula. Add another pound oil of turpen- may be rolled into pills. Then withdraw the tine, and digest, with frequent agitation, heat, and afterwards thin down with 25 galuntil all is dissolved. Then mix 1½ pounds lons oil of turpentine. Used for iron-work, of this solution with 2 pounds of very white &c. copal oil varnish, and 14 pounds well boiled 2900.
