Compound Tincture of Gentian

Mix together 2 troy ounces gentian, 1 troy ounce bitter orange peel, troy ounce cardamom, all in fine powder; moisten with 14 fluid ounces diluted alcohol; pack it in a conical percolator, and displace, with diluted alcohol, 2 pints of tincture. (U. S. Ph.)
