Dark Grey Bronzing for Zinc
Mix 1 drachm protochloride of tin, and 1 drachm sulphocyanide of potassium, with 1 Verdigris, 8 ounces; tutty powder, 4 ounces; pint water. Or: Dissolve 1 drachm each sulborax and nitre, each 2 ounces; bichloride of phate of copper and muriate of iron, in 2 pints mercury, 4 ounce; make them into a paste water. A similar effect may be obtained by with oil, and fuse them together. Used in mixing muriate of lead with water to the conjapanning as a gold color. Or: Grind Dutch sistency of cream. foil or pure gold leaf to an impalpable powder. (See Nos. 2491 and 2517.)
