Take 1 part an- boiler with water and bring it near to the notto liquor (see No. 95), and 1 part boiling boil, then put in the goods and work among water; stir well, and work the goods in it for the wood grains for hour; lift out, wash, 10 minutes; wring out and wash in two wa- wring and dry. Deeper shades may be dyed ters; then work for 20 minutes in a decoction by using larger quantities of the materials in of 2 pounds fustic and 1 pound sumach; lift, each operation. and add 3 ounces copperas in solution; stir 155. Scarlet.
