Ink for Marking Packages (Excellent and very cheap ink)

An excellent and very cheap ink is made by mixing 1 ounce bichromate of potassa and 4 ounces extract of logwood in a stone jar or demijohn, with 2 gallons of hot water. Shake well and let it stand for about 2 weeks, shaking occasionally.
