Nervous Mixture
Liquid carbonate of ammonia, 1/2 drachm; compound tincture of cardamom, 1/2 ounce; oil of lavender, 8 drops; mint water, 3 ounces; mix, and take in two or three doses. It is invaluable. pulverize it, as most ready pulverized articles are adulterated. This is the reason why more cures are not performed by it. Dose, a wineglassful every 2 or 3 hours in the day until broken; then 2 or 3 a day until all is used.
This mixture will be found an infallible cure for intermittent fever and ague. It removes the disease when all other means fail, and may be used by those who object to quinine.
