Oleoresin of Ginger
Take 12 troy ounces ginger in line powder, press it firmly into a cylindrical percolator, and pour upon it 12 fluid ounces stronger ether; continue the percolation with alcohol sufficient to displace 12 fluid ounces in all. Recover from this, by distillation n a water-bath, 9 fluid ounces ether, and expose the residue in a capsule until the volatile part has evaporated.
