Syrup of Citric Acid

Dissolve 60 grains citric acid in fine powder in sufficient warm or hot water, and add the solution to 16 fluid ounces syrup containing, 30 minims spirits of lemon, shaking them all together until thoroughly mixed. Syrup made according to this formula has a better appearance, and retains its brilliance and flavor longer than that prepared according to the U.S. Pharmacopœia.
