To Clean Furs

Furs may be pearlash. When the soap is quite dissolved, cleaned as follows:-Strip the fur articles of their stuffing and binding, and lay them as much as possible in a flat position. They must then be subjected to a very brisk brushing, with a stiff clothes brush; after this, any parts must be cut out, and be neatly replaced by new bits of fur to match. and the mixture cool enough for the hand to bear, plunge the feathers into it, draw the feathers through the hand till the dirt appears squeezed out of them, pass them through a clean lather with some blue in it, then rinse in cold water with blue to give them a good color. Beat them against the hand to shake
