Transfer Varnish

For transferring and fixing engravings or lithographs on wood, and for gilding, silvering, etc. Dissolve 4 ounces mastich (in tears), and 4 ounces sandarach, in 1½ pints rectified spirit; add 1 pint pure Canada balsam. (See No. 2919.)
