Sapling
A greyhound whelped on or after the Ist of January of the same year in which the season of running commenced.
Serving
Of the greyhound; when a dog turns his hare, and keeps his place for another turn, he serves himself; or, losing his place, serves his opponent.
Slipper
The official entrusted with the task of letting the dogs go when they have both fairly sighted the hare.
Slip Steward. The official responsible for greyhounds going to slips within the proper time.
