Janko Keyboard (yanko)

The invention of Paul Janko, arranged like a series of steps, six in number. Each key may be struck in three places, some on the Ist, 3d, and 5th steps, the rest on the 2d, 4th, and 6th, thus enabling the performer to select the most convenient for the passage to be executed.

The chief advantages claimed for this keyboard are: that all scales may be fingered alike; that the thumb may be placed on any key, black or white; that the extended chords are brought within easy reach.
