Reverie
A sentimental name used by some modern writers for composition of like character, generally in lyric form. Rhapsodie or Rhapsody [from Gr., rhabdos, a staff]. The Rhapsodists were wandering reciters who carried a long staff. The term is now applied to an irregular, formless composition which "wanders" from one theme, or key, or tempo to another at the will of the composer.
