String Band
The violins, violas, violoncellos, and double bass, also spoken of collectively as the "strings" or the string quartet.
String Quartet
A composition for two violins, viola, and violoncello. String Quintet, Sextet, Septet, Octet are formed by combining the string instruments in various proportions.
