DEAR SIR-I am temporarily embarrassed through the failure of my New York correspondent to remit. The sum of $500 would relieve my present necessities, but I dislike borrowing money of professional lenders, and would rather solicit the aid of someone of my numerous friends. My first thought was of yourself; and, therefore, my object in writing is to ask if you can spare me the required sum without in any way interfering with your business arrangements?
