, 1 KNOW all men by these presents, that I, A. B., of- do hereby make, constitute, and appoint C. D., of, my true and lawful attorney, for me and in my name to sell, transfer, and assign shares of capital stock, standing in my name on the books of the Merchants' Bank in the city of --, with power also an attorney or attorneys under him for that purpose to make and substitute, with like power, and to do all lawful acts requisite for affecting the premises; hereby ratifying and confirming all that my said attorney or his substitute or substitutes shall do therein by virtue of these presents.
