Umbria
A district of Italy (called by the Greeks Ombrica) bounded on the north by Gallia Cisalpina, from which it was separated by the river Rubicon; on the east by the Adriatic Sea; on the south by the rivers Aesis and Nar; and on the west by the Tiber. Its inhabitants, the Umbri (sing.
Umber), called by the Greeks Umbrici, were one of the most ancient and powerful peoples in Central Italy.
