Bangs, John Kendrick

John Kendrick (1862-), an American editor and humorist. He was born at Yonkers, New York. He was one of the founders of Life, and has written many short stories and poems in a light, humorous vein. In 1900 he became editor of Harper's Weekly. Three years later he took editorial charge of the Metropolitan Magazine. Among his books may be mentioned A House Boat on the Styx, Coffee and Repartee, Ghosts I Have Met, Tiddledywinks Tales, In Camp with a Tin Soldier, and A Rebellious Heroine.
