Musk-Ox

a cud-chewing mammal, intermediate between the ox and the sheep, formerly found in all arctic countries. It is now confined to the northern part of British America. Both sexes are horned. It is somewhat larger than the Rocky Mountain sheep, to which it bears a strong resemblance in fleetness of foot and general hardiness. The body is draped with long, fine hair. The musk-ox takes its name from a secretion of the body. It travels and feeds in flocks, oftentimes taking long journeys in search of food.
