Tarrytown

a village on the east bank of that part of the Hudson known as Tappan Sea. It is twenty-four miles north of New York City. A monument marks the spot where Andre was captured. Sleepy Hollow, made famous by Washington Irving, lies north of the village. Sunnyside, his residence, is situated to the southward. See Andre; Irving
