Dupuis, Charles François : 1742-1809. Charles Francois Dupuis was born at Trie le-Chateau, and educated by his father and afterwards at the College d'Harcourt. At the age of twenty-four he was made professor of rhetoric at Lisieux; but his inclination led him into the field of mathematics.
