Campbellites

the followers of Rev. John McLeod Campbell, of Dumbartonshire, who was deposed from the Church of Scotland, May 24, 1831, for teaching the universality of the Atone- CAMPFIRE GIRLS ment. He established a church at Glasgow in 1833. The name is sometimes erroneously applied to the church founded in the United States by Thomas and Alexander Campbell, and by its members called Christians, Christian Church, or DISCIPLES OF CHRIST (q. v.).
