WILLIAM ELLERY, Academy. He soon came to be regarded an American preacher and writer, born in Newport, R.
I., April 7, 1780. He studied at Harvard College, became a decided Unitarian, and propagated Unizeal and success. His first appointment as a pastor was in 1803, when he obtained the charge of a congregation in Boston, and known as one of the most popular preachers of America. His reputation was still further increased by the publication of writings, chiefly sermons, reviews, etc., on mons, reviews, etc., on popular subjects. , Vt., Oct. 2, 1842.
