Cavitation
the partial vacuum produced in the air adjacent to the surfaces of moving bodies. It is important in aeronautical engineering.
Dragging cavitation is reduced by stream-lined construction, while the wings of airplanes are given a slightly arched shape or camber whereby their lifting power is increased through the suction purposely produced above.
Cyclonopathy
a term in use among European investigators to designate the sensitiveness of many persons to changes in atmospheric pressure conditions. Such sensitiveness is due to the ECONOMIC DETERMINISM physiological effects of changes in temperature, humidity, etc., which accompany variations in barometric pressure. It has also been attributed to variations in atmospheric electricity.
