Elkins
a city of West Virginia, the county-seat of Randolph co. It is on the Western Maryland and the Coal and railroads. The chief industries are tanning, locomotive and car repairing, and the manufacture of boxes and extracts. The city is the seat of Davis and Elkins College, and has an Odd Fellows' home, hospitals, and other public institutions. Pop. (1910) 5,260; (1920) 6,788.
