Ford (WORTHINGTON CHAUN- CEY)

WORTHINGTON CHAUN- CEY, an American statistician; born in Brooklyn, N. Y., Feb. 16, 1858; was chief of the Bureau of Statistics, Department of State, in 1885-1889, and of the Bureau of Statistics in the Treasury Department in 1893-1898; became connected with the Boston Public Library in 1897; was chosen Lecturer on Statistics in the University of Chicago in 1901. He was the author of "American Citizen's Manual"; "The Standard Silver Dollar" (1884) and "George Washington" (1899); "Journal of Continental Congress" (1905); "Life and Writings of John Quincy Adams" (1913).
