Harvey (GEORGE BRINTON MCCLELLAN)

GEORGE BRINTON MCCLELLAN, an American publisher and editor, born in Peacham, Vt., 1864.

He was successively connected with the reportorial staffs of the "Springfield Re- HARZ MOUNTAINS publican," the "Chicago News," and the New York "World." He was also the promoter and the president of a number of electrical railway corporations. At one time he was president of the publishing firm of Harper & Bros. In 1899 he became editor of the "North American Review." He was appointed ambassador to Great Britain in March, 1921. He was the author of "Women" (1908); and "The Power of Tolerance" (1911).
