TIMOTHY MICHAEL, first governor-general of the Irish Free State, HEALY, TIMOTHY MICHAEL, first studied law and became a member both of the Irish and the English bars. In 1880 he became private secretary to Charles Stewart Parnell and in the same year was elected to Parliament from body for various constituencies until first governor-general of the new Irish 1881, speaking in most of the principal Free State. Author of "A Word for cities. On December 6, 1922, he became Ireland," "Why Ireland is Not Free," "The Great Fraud of Ulster," and other works.

Such substances are regularly formed by certain glands and carried by the blood to various organs whose functioning they regulate under the ordinary conditions of health. Others may be formed only in emergencies, as adrenalin, called the "emergency hormone," which is manufactured and poured into the blood by by the adrenal glands in emotions of fright or anger or danger calling for strong action. Its effect is to stimulate the muscles and requisite organs of the body to extraordinary activity such as would be necessary to self-preservation under the conditions of nature. Foreign substances or poisons introduced into the blood often act as hormones, i. e. chemically exciting the body cells with which they come in contact to produce and pour out neutralizing substances.
