Huntsville
town and county-seat of Madison co., Ala., on the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis, and the Southern railroads; 131 miles S. of Nashville, Tenn. It is a summer and winter resort and the seat of Goodrich Training School, State Agricultural and Mechanical Institute for Negroes, and Lowry and Westmoreland Infirmary.
