Itch
a popular name for scabies; a disease arising from the irritation produced by the presence in the parts affected of the itch mite and its ova. The animal burrows chiefly between the fingers, on the front of the forearm, on the abdomen, and the inside of the thighs.
The disease chiefly assails uncleanly people. It is very common among the natives of India and other Orientals.
