Keble
JOHN, an English poet; born in Fairford, Gloucestershire, England, April 25, 1792. He was remarkable for great beauty of character. A clergyman of the English Church, he repeatedly refused rich livings from a sense of duty.
His great work "The Christian Year" (2 vols., 1827), which he published anonymously, had an enormous circulation, and from the profits the author built KEELING one of the most beautiful parish churches in England. Died March 27, 1866.
